Lieutenant Colonel Jack J. Raitt IILieutenant Colonel Jack J. Raitt II is the director, communications (J6) for the Joint Task Force Civil Support, United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM), Joint Base Langley-Eustis. As the director he leads a team providing 24/7 communications for a 206-member garrison and when deployed a 5,200 joint-member task force. His team provides mobile command and control for USNORTHCOM’s initial chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear incident assessment team and establishes the joint operations area communications. Prior to assuming his current position, he was an assessment lead for the C4 Assessment Division, Joint Staff J6, in Suffolk Virginia, where he led government and contract personnel in assessing operational and interoperability enhancements of C2 capabilities. Lt. Col. Raitt was commissioned as a second lieutenant through Air Force Officer Training School, Maxwell AFB, Alabama in 2003. He has served in a variety of communications and cyber billets at Offutt AFB, Ramstein AB, and he was an instructor for the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corp at the University of Nebraska, Omaha. Lt. Col. Raitt has deployed twice: in 2014 he deployed to Turkey providing C4 support for a White House directed mission and in 2006 he deployed in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.
