Emily Middleton, M.S.N.

Instructor, School of Nursing & Health Innovations

Emily Middleton received her B.S.N. from Oregon Health & Science University’s School of Nursing. She completed her master’s degree in nursing education through Western Governors University. Emily’s background in nursing includes hospital and public health settings that primarily focused on pediatrics and caring for families. Additionally, Emily worked as a SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner). These experiences have informed Emily’s interest in the impact of trauma as well as the importance of developing hope and resilience. Previous teaching experience includes several years teaching in both university and community college settings. Emily is currently pursuing a doctoral degree through the University of Portland. She hopes to use her nursing, teaching, and learning experiences in ways that encourage nursing students to become critical thinkers and agents of change in their own nursing practice. Outside of nursing, Emily especially enjoys spending time with family-- traveling and having lots of outdoor adventures.
