Friary Nguyen has been a registered nurse for over fifteen years and an educator for over twenty years. Her field work primarily evolved around the elderly population in assisted living, long term care, skilled nursing, and home health environments. After earning her B.A. in secondary education and B.S. in nursing, she pursued her M.S.N. in nursing leadership with a focus on education. Seeing the value and innovative impact of simulation as an educational modality in nursing, she has achieved certification as a healthcare simulation educator (CHSE) and nurse educator (CNE). Her interest in life itself continues to motivate her to live life in wonder and awe, discovering the beauty of stewardship in taking care of God's creation in a holistic manner. She enjoys sharing meals with family and friends, empowering hikes, creative drawing and painting, and replenishing retreats to balance out life and work. Growing up in Colorado and moving to Oregon, she is excited to learn and engage in new experiences on the journey of life with family, friends, students, colleagues and people she meets. Her ultimate career goal is to help develop and prepare transformational nurses in the light of Christ as Healer and Teacher.
