Kindra Scanlon, D.N.P.

Assistant Professor, School of Nursing 

Kindra ScanlonBefore joining the University of Portland faculty, Kindra Scanlon served as the lead advanced practice provider for the OHSU plastic and reconstructive surgery team and has a background in primary care, urgent care, and preoperative medicine. Kindra earned a B.S.N. and M.S.N. from OHSU and a D.N.P. – F.N.P. from the University of Portland. She loves to teach and mentor students in the clinic. In the past, Kindra has served on the Oregon Nurses’ Association and Nurse Practitioners of Oregon Board of Directors. She is currently serving on the International Council of Nurses Advanced Practice Nursing Communications group. She is also president elect for the OHSU Beta Psi chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International. A published author, Kindra also holds a bachelor of fine arts and enjoys writing, painting, and carving wood in her free time. She additionally speaks German, Russian, and limited French and enjoys traveling, reading, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.
