Applying for a major award allows you to define who you are and to clarify where you are going with your life. It is a process of self-discovery and self-definition. If you win the award, you will be on your way to making the future a reality, but even if you do not win, you will gain clarity about your direction in life.
Winning a prestigious award opens doors that might otherwise have remained closed to you, allowing you opportunities to further yourself and carry out dreams of improving the world. You edify yourself, those around you, and the causes to which you are committed by winning.
The earlier in your college career that you start thinking about applying for one of these awards, the stronger your application. Students from all disciplines are eligible for major awards.
