Evan T. Leadem – Chief of Staff & Board Secretariat

Evan LeademEvan Leadem serves as Chief of Staff & Board Secretariat. In this role, he advances the strategic priorities of the President’s Office, provides counsel and support to the Acting President, and manages a wide array of special projects. He also directs operational and governance matters relating to the University’s Board of Regents.

Prior to joining UP in 2018, Evan practiced civil litigation defense with a national law firm and worked in the president’s office at another institution. He earned his undergraduate and law degrees from Wake Forest University.

Kathleen M. Simek – Administrative Assistant to the President

Kathy SimekKathy Simek serves as Administrative Assistant to the President. She provides administrative and operational support to the President and Board of Regents, while also coordinating the work of President’s Leadership Cabinet administrative assistants.

Before joining UP in 2007, Kathy accumulated twenty-nine years of administrative experience at Pacific University, the Oregon State Forestry, Columbia County 911 Communications District, and the Scappoose School District.
