- Salzburg Center: Europe at your fingertips
Alumni: Salzburg Center: Europe at your fingertips
Salzburg is an Austrian city nestled in the Bavarian foothills, yet much of its architecture is Italian Renaissance. Overlooking this stunning mix of influences sits a perfectly preserved medieval fortress. All of this history combines to make this unique city breathtakingly beautiful.
For 49 years, Salzburg has also been the site of the University's oldest study abroad program.
We invite you to see why visitors have been drawn to this city of domed spires and picturesque walkways, once strolled by native son Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. A visit to Salzburg provides rich cultural opportunities, including the internationally acclaimed Salzburg Festival of music and drama. Salzburg is conveniently located near many other European destinations.
Come soak up the unique history and culture of this Austrian jewel when you work with the Office of Alumni Relations to choose your own activities and site visits - all while using the University of Portland's Salzburg Center as a home base. This trip is highly recommended for individuals and families wishing to explore central Europe on a budget.
