The Thanksgiving Play

Four well-meaning theatre people are tasked with the creation of a Thanksgiving pageant for children that won’t ruffle any feathers. What could possibly go wrong? Playwright and MacArthur Fellow Larissa FastHorse, (the first female Indigenous playwright on Broadway!) guides us through a farcical roast of the politics of entertainment and political correctness alike. The Thanksgiving Play, which premiered in Portland at Artists Repertory Theater in 2018, puts the American origin story itself in the comedy-crosshairs.

The Revolutionists

“Four beautiful, badass women lose their heads in this irreverent, girl-powered comedy set during the French Revolution’s Reign of Terror. Playwright Olympe de Gouges, assassin Charlotte Corday, former queen (and fan of ribbons) Marie Antoinette, and Haitian rebel Marianne Angelle hang out, murder Marat, and try to beat back the extremist insanity in 1793 Paris. This grand and dream-tweaked comedy is about violence and legacy, art and activism, feminism and terrorism, compatriots and chosen sisters, and how we actually go about changing the world. It’s a true story. Or total fiction. Or a play about a play. Or a raucous resurrection…that ends in a song and a scaffold.” – Dramatists Play Service

The Lightning Thief

“As the half-blood son of a Greek god, Percy Jackson has newly-discovered powers he can't control, a destiny he doesn't want, and a mythology textbook's worth of monsters on his trail. When Zeus's master lightning bolt is stolen and Percy becomes the prime suspect, he has to find and return the bolt to prove his innocence and prevent a war between the gods…Adapted from the best-selling book The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan and featuring a thrilling original rock score, The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical is an action-packed mythical adventure "worthy of the gods" (Time Out New York).
