The 2016-2017 workshop, "What the Best Teachers Do," centered around Ken Bain's book, What the Best College Teachers Do, and explored the questions that effective teachers wrestle with as they approach their teaching experiences:

  • What do they know about how we learn?
  • How do they prepare to teach?
  • What do they expect of their students?
  • How do they conduct a class?
  • How do they treat their students?
  • How do they evaluate their students and THEMSELVES?
