Counseling Appointments

Schedule an Appointment

Over the summer, counseling will be provided by our teletherapy partner, BetterMynd.

In-person counseling appointments will resume on August 19th and may be scheduled by calling or stopping by the Counseling Center, or online through the secure patient portal.

If you cannot access BetterMynd or the patient portal, please call the Health & Counseling office at 503.943.7134. If you get our voicemail, please leave your name and your preferred call back number in your message so someone can call you back.

If you need to speak with a counselor urgently at any time, you may reach the Pilot Helpline (on-call counselor) by calling the Health & Counseling at 503.943.7134, and selecting option 3. 


Cancel or Change an Appointment

Please call the Counseling Center at 503.943.7134 or email us at hcc@up.edu to change or cancel an appointment. If you leave a voicemail, please state your name and call back number in your message.

In-person appointments may be canceled through the secure patient portal. Please log in and go to "Appointments" to see if your appointment can be canceled independently.

If you get our voicemail, please state your name and call back number in your message.

To change or cancel BetterMynd virtual counseling/teletherapy appointments, click the BetterMynd button above.

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, we appreciate at least 24 hours notice before your scheduled appointment time. This notice is valuable because it may allow another student to utilize the appointment time.


Cancellation & No-Show Policy

We recognize that things happen and appointments sometimes need to be cancelled or rescheduled; however, your appointments are reserved specifically for you and if you don't cancel or show up, that time cannot be offered to someone else.

Therefore, we ask that you cancel or reschedule as early as you are able; at least 24 hours' notice is preferred in the interest of maintaining appointment availability for all students.

To cancel and/or schedule an appointment, please log into the secure patient portal or call the Counseling Center at 503-943-7134 to notify the receptionist.

BetterMynd teletherapy appointment credits for unattended sessions are not refunded to the University or the student. Please make sure to attend or reschedule BetterMynd virtual counseling appointments.

The Counseling Center will not be able to offer services to students who repeatedly cancel without proper notice or no-show their scheduled appointments.

If you miss an appointment without prior notification (no-show), please call or email (hcc@up.edu) to confirm your next scheduled appointment as soon as possible. If you do not call or email to confirm your next scheduled appointment within one week, all existing future appointments will be cancelled, and you will no longer be considered an active client of the Counseling Center. If your file has been inactivated, you may resume services at the Counseling Center as long as you are eligible, by contacting our office for assistance in the process of reinitiating services.
