Major Events

Events at the university are not allowed to be scheduled during certain high-impact periods of the academic year. Event organizers are required to consult the Registrar's academic calendar and the Event calendar to avoid conflicts with major university events and holidays.

Events are strictly prohibited during the following dates: 

  • Orientation: August 21 - 31, 2025
  • Family Weekend: September 26 - 28, 2025
  • Donor Christmas Gala: December 12, 2025
  • Weekend on the Bluff 1: March 28 - 29, 2026
  • Weekend on the Bluff 2: April 11 - 12, 2026
  • Scholarship Day: April 14, 2026
  • Commencement: April 29 - May 4, 2026
  • Reunion: June 25 - 28, 2026

University Holidays

Dates designated as University Holidays are based on the calendar published by Human Resources. No event, function or activity may take place during these dates as defined by the Administration, with the exception of religious services and University sanctioned NCAA Athletic games. Because we are closed, no support staff is available beginning at 4:30 pm on the last business day before the holiday.

Below are the University Holidays for the academic year of 2025-2026:

  • Labor Day: Monday, September 1
  • Thanksgiving: November 27 - November 28
  • Christmas Break: December 23, 2025 - January 2, 2026
  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day: January 19
  • Good Friday: April 3 
  • Memorial Day: May 25
  • Independence Day: July 4
