Summer Launch Schedule

Day 1

9:30–10 a.m.  Check-in, games, and light snacks provided 
10–10:15 a.m. Introduction to Orientation
10:15–11:15 a.m.  Mass for student participants 
11:15 a.m.–12:30 p.m.  Tour of UP and important resources
12:30–1:30 p.m.  Lunch
1:30–2:30 p.m.  Session 1: Mock Class Session Lead by UP Professor  
2:30–4 p.m.  Community building activity 
4–5 p.m.  Session 2: Introduction to Learning Commons and help with writing college essay  
5–6 p.m.  Session 3: Grades and what they mean in college 
6–7 p.m.  Dinner and introduction to campus dining in Bauccio Commons
7–8:30 p.m.  Reflection on day’s activities 
8:30–11 p.m.  Settle into dorm rooms, board games, and team activities  
11 p.m.  Lights out 

Day 2

9:30–10:30 a.m.  Session 4: Getting involved at UP clubs and organizations – open house format 
10:30–10:45 a.m.  Getting Involved Q&A with current UP first generation student panel
10:45–11:15 a.m.  Session 5: Introduction to the Outdoor Pursuits Program at UP 
11:15 a.m.–12 p.m.  Biking to Cathedral Park 
12–12:45 p.m.  Lunch at Cathedral Park 
12:45–1:30 p.m.  Session 6: Common stresses for incoming FGEN students  
1:30–1:45 p.m.  Recreation Break  
1:45–2:15 p.m.  Ride back to UP 
2:15–3:15 p.m.  Session 7: Feedback from UP Professor—discussion of the faculty student relationship 
3:15–4:15 p.m.  Survey of participants and closing
