Essay prompt: Please provide a 200-300 word narrative of your academic and/or professional goals. The importance of your intended degree program in the pursuit of these goals should also be made clear.

The online application will prompt you to provide email addresses for two references. A request will be sent directly to your references and they can upload a Word document or PDF letter.

Official Transcripts from all previously attended academic institutions. A bachelor's degree or its equivalent from an accredited college or university recognized by the University of Portland is required
US university transcripts: Submit transcripts electronically to gradschl@up.edu or by mail to: University of Portland Graduate School, 5000 N Willamette Blvd., Portland, OR 97203. In order to be considered official, the transcripts must be sent directly from the institution to UP.
International Applicants: All foreign degrees will be evaluated by International Student Services prior to an admissions decision. Transcripts from foreign universities must be in English or be accompanied by an English translation certified as authentic. Send official transcripts to our address below:

Official Test Scores
International Applicants: an official score from either the TOEFL (minimum score of 80) or IELTS (minimum score of 7.0) exam is required. The institution code to submit TOEFL scores is B887. If you are taking the IELTS exam, request that your official score report is sent to the University of Portland.
International Applicants: Official GRE scores are required. The institution code to submit exam scores is 4847.
The GRE is not required for any applicant who completed their bachelor's degree at a US institution.
Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, or a physical science (including computer science and environmental science)
International Applicants: Proof of financial support will be required to attend the University of Portland, but is not required for application review
Application Timeline:
The Shiley School of Engineering admits Master's candidates each fall.
Applications, along with the documents described above, must be received by March 15th.
Decisions will be released April 15th.
A $500 non-refundable enrollment deposit is due May 15th to hold your spot in the program and will be applied towards your first semester of tuition.
