Develop an Approach to Writing

Carefully read over the assignment—What are the specifics of the paper (length, structure, formatting, topic, types of sources needed, citation style, etc.)? 

If you aren’t sure where to start, looking at sources can be a good place to start—What are these individuals/groups saying about your topic? Do you agree with them? 

Outlines can be extremely beneficial, even if it is just a layout of your paper, since they allow you to view the general direction and flow of your paper.

Leave time to revise your paper before turning it in—while grammar and punctuation are important, also make sure that your ideas work well together and your argument is clear.
