Academic Coaching is a Spring Semester program offered out of the SARC First Year Programs office. This program provides students with a weekly accountability partner for reaching toward their academic goals and developing a stronger skillset to utilize during their time at UP. The purpose of Academic Coaching is to promote academic skill-building and increase participants' academic confidence

Academic Coaches are sophomore through senior students that get paired with first-year students who register for the Academic Coaching program. The academic coach is a facilitator, developing a relationship with their coachee, helping develop skills to solve academic problems, and guiding them in their continued adjustment to the university environment. Coaches will likely be paired with students of the same major or within the same academic school and meet weekly to discuss previous weeks and plan for future weeks.
