Medical Care & Testing

Medical Care

If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, please isolate (i.e. do not attend in-person classes, athletic practices, or nursing clinicals) and contact the Health and Counseling Center as soon as possible at 503.943.7134.

If you need treatment for illness outside of the HCC's operating hours, please see our After-Hours Primary Care to find an off-campus clinic, start a virtual visit using Providence Express Care Virtual, or call the ProvRN nurse advice line--instructions for accessing these telehealth services can also be found on our After-Hours Primary Care site.

If at any time you experience severe symptoms including trouble breathing, persistent pain or pressure in the chest, new confusion, inability to wake or stay awake, or bluish lips or face, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.

COVID Testing

The HCC offers free COVID testing Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm. Please call the HCC at 503.943.7134 to schedule an appointment. If you experiencing any symptoms of illness, the HCC will schedule you for a general check-up as part of your COVID testing appointment. If appropriate according to your symptoms, the HCC will also test for, diagnose, and/or treat other types of illnesses.

After-hours, self-testing kits for SARS-COV-2 are available at no cost to UP students, staff and faculty. These testing kits can be requested by contacting Residence Life (for on campus students) or Campus Safety. Community testing options are also listed below:

If you have tested positive for COVID-19, please submit a COVID-19 Self-Reporting Form to be connected with the UP COVID Case Management Team, and begin isolation immediately. After you submit a report to Pilots Prevent, the Case Management Team will reach out to you shortly regarding your next steps.
