Medical Care

If at any time you experience severe symptoms including trouble breathing, persistent pain or pressure in the chest, new confusion, inability to wake or stay awake, or bluish lips or face, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.


If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, please isolate (i.e. do not attend in-person classes, athletic practices, or nursing clinicals) and contact the Health Center or an off-campus healthcare provider as soon as possible at 503.943.7134.

Medical appointments for COVID-19 testing and symptomatic treatment can be made by calling the Health Center at 503.943.7134. Appointments are scheduled first come, first serve Monday through Friday during business hours.


If you need treatment for illness outside of the Health Center's business hours, please see our After-Hours Primary Care site to find an off-campus clinic, start a virtual visit using Providence Express Care Virtual, or call the ProvRN nurse advice line (instructions for accessing these telehealth services can also be found on our After-Hours Primary Care site).

Additionally, OHA is partnering with Color to offer free telehealth evaluations and medication consultations for people 18+ who test positive for COVID. If you meet criteria for antiviral medications, a clinician can prescribe the medications and have them sent to your home, or to be filled at a local pharmacy. COVID Testing

If you have tested positive for COVID-19, please submit a COVID-19 Self-Reporting Form to be connected with the UP COVID Case Manager, and begin isolation immediately. After you submit a report to Pilots Prevent, the Case Manager will reach out to you shortly regarding your next steps.


The Health Center offers free COVID rapid antigen and PCR testing Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm. Please call the Health Center at 503.943.7134 to schedule an appointment. If you experiencing any symptoms of illness, the Health Center will schedule you for a general check-up as part of your COVID testing appointment. If appropriate according to your symptoms, the Health Center will also test for, diagnose, and/or treat other types of illnesses.

After-hours, COVID self-testing kits for are available at no cost to UP students, staff and faculty. These testing kits can be requested by contacting Residence Life (for on-campus students) or Campus Safety.
