Favorite "hidden gem" in Portland: I've always had a fondness for The Grotto. It's a serene, green, and peaceful spot that offers a calm and quiet getaway from the "city life" of Portland. It's a great place to decompress and reflect. 

Advice for prospective students: Say yes! Once you get to college, get involved! Say yes to joining clubs, spending time with someone new, or just generally getting outside of your comfort zone. Your time at a university is unique and inimitable; take advantage of every opportunity presented to you. 

Favorite spot on campus: The SLUG (Student-Led Unity Garden). The view from the SLUG of the St. John's bridge is unmatched. I love taking daily walks on campus and often incorporate a stop at the SLUG so I can take a moment to watch the cars driving over the bridge.
