LOG Yearbook Business and Marketing Manager

 

Duties and responsibilities associated with the position

  • Work closely with LOG staff and advisor to coordinate marketing and core events (Activities Fair, Book Distribution, Club and Senior photos, and Family Weekend Outreach)
  • Develop creative marketing strategies to brand LOG yearbook and attract University of Portland student participation to engage with the program (pick up yearbook, submit photos and written content, attend photo sessions, complete surveys, etc.)
  • Manage all details of senior tribute in-book advertising initiatives, from direct mail advertising to parents to layout ads in book to writing thank you notes to patrons
  • Develop creative marketing materials and promotional activities to engage a variety if UP students in the LOG yearbook
  • Execute senior tribute in-book advertising program under direction of the advisor
  • Execute online yearbook ordering and shipment process

 

General qualifications and requirements

  • Preferred: basic knowledge of graphic design software, including Creative Suite
  • Preferred: Self-motivated and can work independently, without direction
  • Preferred: High attention to detail
  • Preferred: Experience with brand development, marketing and advertising to a targeted audience
  • Preferred: Experience in event planning and execution, marketing and logistics
  • Preferred: Ability to effectively troubleshoot challenges in preparation for and throughout programs
  • Preferred: Timely and professional communication with students and staff through email, telephone, social media mediums, and in person

 

Time commitment and required availability

  • Must commit to working infrequent events (yearbook distribution, senior portrait sessions, etc), attending monthly staff meetings, and self-manage and complete assigned tasks
