Alumni Letter on Diversity, Equity, and Belonging

January 7, 2021

To our fellow alumni,

We have been working with the Office of Alumni & Parent Relations to discuss how alumni programming might best support all alumni, especially our BIPOC population (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color). Our initial goal is to implement consistent space and access to one another through a chapter. We have important work to do prior to launching that program:

  • Improve data and communication:
    • The University of Portland has made concerted efforts to increase student diversity, yet there is still work to be done. This survey will assist UP in gathering information on our current alumni demographics to make informed decisions regarding alumni programs and ensure future communication regarding those programs will include all desired constituents.
  • Identify leaders:
    • We are eager to find leaders to co-create this space with the support of the Office of Alumni & Parent Relations.
    • We want to ensure we have a rich repository of alumni voices as alumni leaders work through themes, topics, and priorities.

Submit Info Here

Please take a few minutes to complete the form. The information collected will be used solely for the work of alumni engagement. We are eager to hear from you and continue this important work!

Sincerely,
