AV Services supports staff, faculty, and university guests in their use of equipment for classes and events. Provided services include:
Students wishing to borrow AV equipment will be redirected to the Library Digital Lab.
Issues with passwords, software installation, or office computers will be rerouted to the Help Desk.
Faculty and staff seeking software training will be referred to Academic Technology Services.
Faculty and staff may request to borrow AV equipment by emailing, calling, or visiting the AV Services office. When using Virtual EMS to reserve a campus location, AV equipment should be requested on the same service order.
Semester-long, repeating orders should be made at least a week before the semester starts, while one-time orders should be made at least two business days in advance. All requests are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis and equipment availability is always dependent on current demand.
AV Services offers the following portable equipment:
Borrowing equipment is free of charge for staff, faculty, and campus groups. Labor is also free of charge for requests scheduled during core hours of operation.
Events or classes scheduled outside of core hours may incur labor charges. Labor provided by AV Services outside of core hours will incur a $25.00 per hour charge with a two-hour minimum.
Events are defined as activities or functions that are sponsored by a group within or outside of the university community and within or outside the scope of support of in-class academics.
If borrowed equipment is not returned to the AV Services department, or if returned equipment has been damaged beyond what could be considered wear and tear of normal use, a chargeback for the cost of replacement will be issued to the borrowing department. The cost of replacement varies widely depending on the type of equipment.
