Student Conduct Philosophy

At the core of student conduct is the opportunity for formative and developmental learning, based in the Holy Cross tradition, to challenge students to reflect on their choices, take responsibility for their actions, and grow in personal understanding of one’s responsibilities and privileges within both the University community and beyond. This often happens through conversations, hearings, and outcomes which provide individual attention and care for the persons involved. Through this process students are challenged to reflect upon their choices, values, and goals and to determine if these elements are in line with their vocation, who they are, and who they are becoming. Opportunities are provided to students that empower them to learn about the communities they are a part of, how they impact the world around them, and developing relationships with others. Ultimately, through their experience within the student conduct process, students will discover their own growth in a holistic manner — mind, heart, and hands.
