Credit/Debit Card Payments

Credit and debit card payments are not accepted in person or over the phone, however, the University of Portland has partnered with Nelnet (formerly Tuition Managements Systems or TMS) to enable online credit/debit card payments . Through the Nelnet website, payments can be processed for tuition, fees, room and board, and other related balances. Nelnet accepts Mastercard, Discover, Visa, and American Express credit cards as well as electronic checks. A convenience fee is charged by Nelnet for debit/credit card payments. To make an online debit/credit card payment:

  • Go to Nelnet
  • Select either "Tuition & Fees" or "Deposits" from the "This payment applies toward" drop-down menu in the "Make a One-Time Payment" portion of the "Make a Payment" box
  • Select "Make a One-Time Payment"
  • Enter the student's name, 9-digit Student ID #, and the term
  • Select "Continue"
  • Enter the payment amount and select "Add"
  • Select "Continue"
  • Select "Credit Card" as the payment method
  • Enter your account information per the online directions
