Hall Director, Study Abraod - Salzburg

Michael was born and raised in Tacoma, Washington,and attended Whitworth University in Spokane, WA, as an undergraduate. While there, his own growth and development inspired him to pursue a career in higher education, leading to his master of science in Higher Education Administration and Policy from Northwestern University. Before coming to the University of Portland, Michael spent a little over 2 years at the University of Texas at Austin on the Employer Relations team at the McCombs School of Business.

After serving as Hall Director for Corrado Hall here on the Bluff, Michael hoped across the pond and took on the role of Hall Director for UP's long running study abroad program in Salzburg Austria.

Michael is excited to contribute to the community and is passionate about individual student growth and development as well as diversity, equity and inclusion. In his spare time, he can be found biking or doing some other outdoor activity, playing board games, and watching a movie or TV show.
